Twice a week, students are taking their backpacks off and putting their dancing shoes on for a Zumba class at the Frolio Middle School.

The class, which meets Mondays and Thursdays for an hour after school, is a fun, fast-paced form of exercise.

The eight-week class is taught by Frolio science teacher Lauren Peruzzi.

It walks middle school students through dances to Latin music, step by step.

The class started mid-November, and will continue through mid-March.

By the end of the eight weeks, the students will have learned dance steps to eight songs.
