Highlights

During the Special Town Meeting, voters will be asked to approve $15.86 million for construction of a new Kingston Public Library. The Board of Selectmen recommends this article, which would further require a ballot vote. The Finance Committee does not recommend approval.

Voters will be asked to approve $810,000 from free cash to fund the Gray’s Beach Park restoration, retreat and improvement project. The Board of Selectmen and Finance Committee recommend this article.

The first article seeks $278,383 from free cash to replace the energy management system at Kingston Intermediate School. The Board of Selectmen and Finance Committee recommend this article.

Several zoning articles approved at Town Meeting in the spring have to be revoted due to a notification error.

 

On the warrant

The Special Town Meeting warrant lists 14 warrant articles, but the article on budgeting for wastewater surplus revenue will not go forward after it was deemed unnecessary. The warrant is available on the homepage of the town’s website at www.kingstonmass.org.
