It was not the set of the next Marvel movie, but the Muddy River sure looked like it.  On April 9 Brookline police officers and firefighters responded with Boston firefighters and Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection officials to reports of a green hue or haze in the water.

A Brook House resident reported the strange hue to the Brookline Police, according to Brookline Lt. Philip Harrington.

Crews searched nearby manholes looking for a source that may have been coming from a nearby building and eventually cleared the river after determining that the water did not appear to be hazardous.

As of 1 p.m. on April 10, there was not an update as to the cause of the strange color, according to Brookline police.
