TO THE EDITOR:

I’m horrified to learn the results of air quality testing in the Fore River compressor station site.

How long has this been going on? I was pregnant and had two sons who were infants just about a mile from that site. Have I exposed myself and my children to cancer? Was the decision to live in this town over 40 years ago going to make my family ill? Will I ever know?

I will now ask Gov. Baker not when he is going to come out against the compressor station, but what he will do today. We are being exposed to toxins and the levels are over the state guidelines.

As a nurse, mother and grandmother, how much longer do we to need to wait till Baker unleashes his state agencies to help us?

The health of the community is clearly at risk. If not for the great people of Fore River Residents Against the Compressor Station, we wouldn’t have known the extent of the violations. A great thanks to them all.
