The Marshfield U18 softball team won the South Shore Summer Softball League championship on Aug. 1.

Marshfield finished 6-4 during the regular season to earn the No. 3 seed in the post-season. The girls defeated Hingham, 13-7, on the road on July 30 to advance to the championship against Milton, a rematch of last year’s final.

Marshfield rallied from down 2-0 to pull out a 5-3 win over Milton. Lily Morrison pitched well while Emily Wilkinson and Atlantic Coast League All-Star Danielle Germano added key hits.

Angie Williams belted a home run and Hannah Blanco succeeded during a long, grueling at-bat.

Marshfield coach Mark Germano has coached to the team to three consecutive titles.

During the regular season, Marshfield allowed the least amount of runs (58) in the league.
